Description
Photography from the visit of the Southern Westphalian Train Museum in Siegen
Class E10.12 and 141.
There is something special about the E10.12. With this coat of paint they were servicing the new express train called "Rheingold" (Rhinegold). But not for long time because the new generation of the class E10 was about to get in Service. The "Bügelfalte" ("crease") engineerjr.deviantart.com/art/… had a better aerodynamic shape and was faster because of the technical development. The E10.12 was the first of it's class with new designed bogys which made a speed of 160 kp/h (99 mph) possible. Those new bogys later becam a standard of the "crease".
More information about the class 110 here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB_Class…
Because of its pneumatic switchgear the class 141 was called the "squib".

Photographed with CANON AE-1
Film: Spector Color. ISO 100/21°. Process C-41.
